Meet Ravi Simon

As a proud member of the Class of 2015, I would be the only member of school committee to have recently graduated high school. When the Committee addresses topics such as student welfare, mental health, and diversity initiatives, I can bring a fresh, firsthand perspective to the table. 

I am the sole staffer for State Rep. Carmine Gentile. Some of our recent relevant achievements include:

• $10 million in funding for compensatory services for students with disabilities who turned 22 during the pandemic
• Advocacy for universal school meals so no children are left hungry at school
• $100,000 to purchase a passenger van to pilot an extended day program for Sudbury students 
• Annual increases in L-S Chapter 70 funding in the MA budget
• Filing and advocating for sponsored bills to protect school children from pesticide exposure and create a resolution to study school start times
